Morning Story time

Pupils are welcome to come to the library during pre-lessons (8:10 - 8:25 a.m.) to join the 'Morning Story time'. The NET and ELTA take turns to share various interesting books with the pupils during the time.

Joyful Reading Scheme

"Joyful Reading Scheme" is implemented to cultivate students' reading habits and increase their interest in reading a wide array of books. Students are encouraged to read fictions to ignite their imagination whereas reading non-fiction books can help them acquire different knowledge across the curriculum. Those who have read at least 20 English books, 10 Chinese books and 10 Self-directed reading books will be awarded a certificate to acknowledge their reading effort in each term.

Storyland Safari

To cultivate students' reading habits, the school library is offering 'Storyland Safari' to promote reading. The activity is held from Monday to Friday at 3:15 – 4:25 p.m. in the library. The NET, the ELTA and the Teacher Librarian will take turns to do book recommendation. After the book recommendation by the teachers, the students will read books independently.

World Book Fest Day

The World Book Fest Day activities were hosted on the 20th and 21st of April. The objectives are to cultivate students' reading interest in Science and Technology, Moreover, students have more chances to understand China's Science and Technology development which are related to 'Science and Technology Security'. It is a cross-curricular activities of STEAM and Library Studies. Various interesting activities were held including Fun with AI Robot, AR Interactive games and STEAM Games. Students had a wonderful time in reading books and playing the booth games.

 

Through AR interactive games, students could experience the infinite possibilities of the future space. The students enjoyed playing it very much.

The students interacted with the AI robot through its programming function. Through the robot's small programming games, students could develop an interest in STEAM and programming.

The students watched the VR short films and learn about Mars from the videos. The realism of VR made it easier to enhance students' curiosity about the sky, thus encouraging them to discover or explore more related information.

Through making rubber band rockets or rocket origami, the students understood more about the principles of STEAM.

STEAM Game 1: Students learned inertia, center of gravity, and how force vectors affect structural stability through fast-paced action. STEAM Game 2: Students learned about inclined planes, gravitational components, and friction, while gaining insights into feedback control systems and the mechanical precision of track design.

The students read e-books, audiobooks and hardcopy books related to China's Science and Technology.

Parent-Child Reading Skills Workshop

In order to promote home reading, the "Parent-Child Reading Skills Workshop" was held on 13th January, 2026. Parents could learn how to choose suitable books for their children. Moreover, they could learn different storytelling skills and apply the skills to read books with their children at home.
