Beyond the English curriculum, English department offers a wide range of activities and competitions to broaden students' horizons and nurture their whole person development. Through events such as the "Tell a Tale" Children's Storytelling Competition, English talk self directed reading, the Hong Kong School Drama Festival and Graduation Musical, choral speaking contests, and National Security Education led by English ambassadors. Students build confidence, creativity, teamwork and civic awareness. These enriching experiences help each learner discover and develop their potential in authentic, meaningful contexts.

English talk – Self-directed learning in reading

On 5 May 2026, the P.2 to P.4 students took part in a special learning activity. Our facilitator shared a meaningful story related to individuals with Spinal Muscular Atrophy (SMA), using a picture book illustrated by the facilitator as part of the session. With guided follow-up questions, students were encouraged to explore knowledge beyond the book, fostering independent learning through reading and developing empathy through thoughtful discussion.
