Environmental Protection Outdoor Activity

27/03/2026

Students recently dove into the Jockey Club Marine Plastic Challenge Education Programme at Ocean Park's Water World. This interactive initiative aims to expose the "silent killers" of our oceans, tracing the sources of pervasive marine plastics and their devastating threats to marine life.

Highlighting the journey, pupils visited Hong Kong's first zero-carbon, solar-powered marine debris collecting vessel. The experience shifts focus toward the hidden dangers of microplastics, empowering students to become advocates. By understanding these environmental impacts firsthand, participants are uniquely equipped to spark vital public awareness and protect our marine ecosystems.

An environmental outdoor activity, co-organized by Nan Fung Group and the Environmental Protection Department, brought students to the forefront of eco-innovation. Held at the brand-new Kai Tak landmark, AIRSIDE, the initiative gave pupils a unique, real-world glimpse into the future of green buildings. By exploring the complex's cutting-edge infrastructure, students gained firsthand insight into sustainable living practices and green technology. This immersive experience successfully bridged the gap between classroom theory and real-world environmental action, inspiring the next generation to champion sustainable urban development.
